Hello from Giulio and Tamara,

before discovering the existence of this dream place, we traveled far and wide in the Alto Salento area, visited several rural properties, but there was always something that did not completely convince us and we said to ourselves: "... beautiful , but..?!?"
Then, one summer day in 2019 we came across this property almost by chance and we were immediately struck by the particular architecture of this Saracen Trullo placed in a dominant position with a splendid view of the horizon with its marvelous blue sea and sky, together with the green hills; bewitched by this wild, rocky place and by the Mediterranean scrub so invasive as to hide the old dry stone walls and the existing paths.
That is the moment our adventure began, our dream began to take shape: the idea was to make the old coexist with the new, the reality of yesterday and that of today, to make everything functional, comfortable, while trying to respect the history of this place and the environment as much as possible through the adoption of the most modern technologies based on renewable energy and energy saving.
For relief from the summer heat, we added a pool of salt water, but the silence, interrupted only by the singing of the cicadas, continues to reign in the park, and where points have deliberately been left impenetrable.
Our passion for design and our love for beauty and nature, have guided us in the definition and development of a project that we wanted to also have the traits of uniqueness.
We have therefore taken care of and followed the restoration and renovation in every detail, like bringing back to its splendor local stones used in the building that the old plaster had covered and hidden, re-designing only some valuable architectural elements such as the portal of the Trullo, the small windows, the interior of its central dome, the rounded wall of the Lamia and the architraves.
It was precisely the many references to the architecture of the Trullo, having so many Arabian and Middle Eastern traits, that inspired us for the design and construction of the coatings, the columns that support the wrought iron gate, in the choice of objects and ornamental plants such as agaves, camphor tree, pomegranates for the garden park, which, as you move away from the house, is once more dominated by indigenous vegetation, made of holm oaks, olive trees, almond trees, strawberry trees, figs and prickly pears, ...
There many persons we would like to thank: the recovery of this place has involved us a lot both emotionally and mentally, so we want to thank the all those who have helped us to realize our dream, starting first of all from those who have been close to us and supported us in these two years, our parents, Lidia, Teodoro and Ivanka, our neighbors Marcella, Vanni and Giancarlo, Rosaria and Mimmo.
